Many people who have to deal with the aggravation of glasses and contacts every day have most likely wondered about laser eye surgery. Ive been in contacts for 15 years, which is a long time to deal with it. I personally am just about to the point where I am trying to consider one of these options for myself. Most people considering laser eye surgery are concerned about the cost, and wonder if it will be covered by their insurance. Usually, the answer is no, because this procedure is considered to be a cosmetic surgery. I can not find a single insurance policy that will cover the cost of a cosmetic procedure unless it is due to a severe accident and the surgery is required to repair areas of skin that were lost or destroyed due to an accident that would be covered by insurance. Since having laser eye surgery does not fall in the category of an accident, anyone that elects to have the procedure done will not be able to file an insurance claim to cover the expense. How can afford to get the surgery done if you have to pay for it all out of pocket? There are quite a few ways to consider so the surgery can be partially or completely paid for.
