Unfortunately, many people are tasked with having their eyesight corrected either when they are young or when they get old enough that issues with myopia begin to occur. The daily care of glasses and contact lenses aside, they are just a pain to have to deal with constantly and keep in a condition where they will provide the constant vision they are supposed to. Glasses need to be cleaned every single day, or actually a lot more often than that, so that they don’t develop the dirt spots that just seem to crop up. Contacts have to be soaked every night in a cleaning solution and cannot usually be worn for more than about eight hours at a time because of the irritation they cause the eye. Lasik eye surgery has eliminated the need for both of these nuisances for a lot of people and given them back the sight they enjoyed when they were youngsters. Some problems are inherent in any new procedure for some people, but they do not outweigh the potential benefits.

When it comes to eyesight most people would rather keep the perfect sight they had as children and not have to worry about having it corrected to any extent whatsoever. No one wants to where glasses or contacts. The difficulty is that they are always somehow a nuisance. Either the glasses are in the way when one is trying to play sports or the contacts are drying out and causing too much pain. Glasses have to be cleaned constantly and contacts cannot be effectively worn for very long during the day because of the irritation they cause.
